A lot has been shaking on our basement remodel! The tile is done as far as he can go until the drywall is finished. The drywall is as far as it can be until the upstairs gut job. My brother came in and installed the lights for the bathroom and it looks so wonderful!! Plus he was able to get one of the wall sconces up in our "hallway." So now we just need our plumber to get the toilet set, shower set and water running. Oh and of course, the urinal all set up too. We found out the week we are having twin BOYS! So it looks like we get to stay in our house a bit longer, since the boys can share a room and we'll get plenty of use out of the urinal.
In addition to work on the bathroom, dad has come over to work on our wall of doors! We are almost to the point where we can lock the cats out. Dad and my husband spent a loooooonnnngggg time readjusting the door frames because our floor is so uneven. And finally all five doors are hung! One even shuts! The screen door is there just so we can access the furnace to change the filters etc. the double doors need some extra work. Dad is going to install the lock mechanism this weekend. I picked up the old kind that is found on the doors we have in our house currently. So we had to google a video on how to install antique door locks. Thank you This Old House! Dad is very nervouse to try it, but I have confidence that he can do it.

I realized that it had been a while since I posted bathroom progress. It looks so wonderful! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our tiler is finished as far as he can go for now. He seals the laid tile today. Which means next step will be to set the toilet, vanity and get running water down there!
Once we have the running water, we can start the destruction of the upstairs bathroom!! Yay! |

This blog started as me just writing about the rehabbing of my home. However, life changed dramatically in the last year so I have changed the topic to dealing with these trials and tribulations instead. Hopefully I will beat this cancer and then get back to my life as a mom, wife and teacher. Archives
